When I headed off to Port Lincoln, South Australia a couple of weeks ago for a scrapbooking retreat, I had no idea what an amazing experience I was in for. It was relaxing, inspiring and fun but those words just don't do it justice.
The connections I made there were so good. So, so good. I met so many amazing, talented, creative, genuine, funny and kind people.
I was fortunate enough to travel down there with my good friend Kim Jeffress, who was teaching a class at the retreat. I was even more fortunate as I got to "room" with two more amazing and inspiring teachers Sharmaine Kruijver and Ebony van der Starre who I had connected with online but never met before.
After only a couple of hours I felt like we'd been friends forever!
We had so many laughs . . . including some photo booth fun. This photo seriously makes me laugh every time I look at it!
We challenged ourselves to scrap this photo, each in our own individual style (which I'm sure you'll agree are all totally different!)
I used my current faves which included the Maggie Holmes range from Crate Paper. Lucky for me the colours matched!
I define my style typically as layered, distressed, coordinated and little clusters of embellishing. I tried to stay true to my style.
This is a rare layout without much journaling as I just wanted to focus on the fun! But I will have more layouts from the weekend in my future . . .
Please hop on by these crazy ladies' blogs to check out their layouts! We thought it would be fun to synchronise our blogs today!
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I felt connected to so many people. I miss them dearly and can't wait to do it again!
And to my good friend Kerryn Lawson whose idea it was for me to go to the retreat - THANK YOU! I wish you lived closer!
